Dr. Cleantus Jean (Junior) from Ft. Liberte Haiti shared his story at Central Lakes Rotary meeting on August 16.

Dr. Jean is our key contact in Haiti for the water and sanitation projects we've supported.  Dr. Jean shared his story: he was orphaned at age 5 and grew up in an orphanage.  He dreamed of becoming a doctor; many told him he was "crazy", he was a poor orphan.  But he believed and is now a doctor.  He dreams of becoming the public health minister in Haiti; many tell him he's crazy.  Dr. Jean has seen the misuse of funds intended for the Haitian people and believes the problems can be corrected only from within the system.  He dreams that he will make such an impact as the health minister that he can be elected president of Haiti.  Dr. Jean works to show Haitians they can help themselves.

Members of Central Lakes Rotary, along with our ADG Rick Bricker are working on organizing a Vocational Training Team to help Dr. Jean move medical care forward in his region of Haiti.  Working with the Brainerd Sunrise Club we believe we can make a big difference in a country where there is so much need!
